Diversity Statement
The FreeState Legal Project is committed to reflecting the diversity of our surrounding community. We firmly believe that diversity within our workforce, Board of Directors, and volunteer-base better enables us to serve our clients. By embracing different viewpoints, ethnic experiences, ideologies, and personal backgrounds, we are able to bring a broad perspective to the problems facing our clients, which results in a higher quality of work, and a more effective level of advocacy. Therefore, it is the goal of FreeState to foster and maintain a culture that supports and promotes diversity, so that all all involved with FreeState, regardless of their background, feel welcome, included, valued, supported, and able to contribute according to their abilities.
As it grows and develops, FreeState will seek to recruit and retain attorneys and staff who are diverse in every sense of the word. We are committed to fostering diversity and equal opportunity in the practice of law. We believe that diversity enhances the quality of our legal services and provides us with a rich and rewarding work and life experience. Accordingly, we celebrate the differences among members of our staff and volunteer-base, including but not limited to those related to sexual orientation, gender identity, race, sex, ethnicity, religion, national origin and disability.
Our goal is to create a diverse culture within FreeState that will reflect the diversity of our clients and the communities we serve. Even more, we feel this is imperative to our success as an organization.
ADA Compliance Statement
In accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the FreeState Legal Project will not discriminate against individuals with disabilities on the basis of their disability in its programs, services, activities or employment.
